Help Rebuild Hope for 49 Children in Chepadi Village, Blantyre
Story
In the hills of Chepadi Village stands Chisomo Orphan Care which also serves as a Community-Based Childcare Centre (CBCC) a place of hope for 49 children. But today, this small structure has no roof, no toilets, and no learning or teaching materials but above all its not conducive and spacious enough. As the rains approach, lessons will stop, and another year of education will be lost.
Chepadi was among the areas severely affected by Cyclone Freddy in 2023, and no rehabilitation has been done since. Yet, the community remains resilient and ready to rebuild together. The people of Chepadi have already pledged land, sand, and local labour to make this dream possible, they just need a little support to complete it.
Through this fundraiser, we aim to rebuild Chisomo CBCC into a safe and nurturing learning space, providing:
• A child-friendly classroom
• Sanitation facilities
• Nutritious food for learners
• Teaching and learning materials
The Makazi Foundation, in partnership with Mount View International Primary School & Chigwaja Youth Club, has worked with this community since 2023, planting over 1,200 trees and supporting youth empowerment and mindset change. Together, we now want to ensure that these children can learn, play, and grow without fear of the rains.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will help restore education, dignity, and hope for 49 young learners in Chepadi Village.
Let’s rebuild Chisomo.
Let’s rebuild hope. 💛
